Hotel Coco Blanco San Blas
![]() |
Isla Ogobsibu rests upon the crystal-clear, turquoise, waters of the Caribbean like a rain drop on a coconut palm. With only four cabanas on this petite, grassy, coconut crowned island, Hotel Coco Blanco offers unparalleled rustic tranquility in the San Blas Islands, Panama.
The airy accommodations are built facing out over the spectacular white-sand beach and feature traditional thatched bamboo construction. The cabanas are basic but offer comfy beds and a private bathroom complete with showers and flush toilets. One of the cabanas offers a room with four beds for small groups, the other three are geared towards couples and solo travelers.
Traditional Kuna meals including fresh seafood are served up three times a day at ocean-side tables in the cool shade of a palm-thatched palapa. Looking out over the ocean, Coco Blanco gives a castaway experience you will not forget.
Coco Blanco offers some great daily tours that are included with your San Blas accommodation. The most popular ones are visiting one of the uninhabited islands and snorkelling or a cultural tour of one of the more populated island towns for a flavour of daily Kuna life. Additional tours may be available at an additional cost.
Electricity is available from six until ten or eleven but on a clear night the only light you’ll want to see is that of the moon casting its surreal blue glow across the sandy beach while a billion stars sparkle like diamonds in the dark sky.

How To Get There
The road to San Blas through the densely forested jungle highlands of Panama can only be negotiated by licensed 4×4 transporters. The Kuna Yala will not allow any other vehicles to enter carrying foreigners, thus the only way to to get to Hotel Coco Blanco is with the 4×4 vehicles that leave Panama City daily between 5am and 6am. The drive is approx 2.5hrs, depending on road and weather conditions. The 4×4 transporters can hold up to 7 passengers, it can be a squeeze at times and we advise all clients only to take a small bag containing what they need for their stay in the San Blas.
Currently El Porvenir Airport is closed for renovations and all the other airports are much further south in the island chain and cannot be used to get Hotel Coco Blanco.
